Realização

Latinoware 2010 will offer lectures on the main trends of the digital market

The seventh edition of the Latin-American Open Source Software Conference, that will be held between November 10 and 12, in Foz do Iguaçu, will be a meeting point for the debate around the development and use of free software, based on the main trends of the digital market.

During the Conference, there will be about 100 lectures, with themes focusing on: Social Networks; Agile Development; Business Models; Accessibility and Mobility; and Cloud Computing. This matrix will enable crossing over between specific topics, such as: programming languages and frameworks; desktop environments; geo-processing; computer graphics and games; Linux distributions; and Virtualization.

In this way, the cross over between the themes of geo-processing and Social Networks will result in, for instance, lectures on applications that will allow people to interact through web maps. Another example is the junction between the topics of cloud computing and virtualization, where it will be possible to discuss the infra-structure for a new application offering environment through the web.

In addition, Latinoware carries on with its focus on promoting technological integration among the countries of Latin America, striving to bring in several success cases that can be replicated in other countries. “Latinoware is an event that shows the communal effort in developing and deploying open source technologies as another tool for the integration of Latin-American Peoples”, affirms Marli Portela, Superintendent of IT at Itaipu.
