Itaipu Tech Park (PTI) - Location of Latinoware.



In October, Foz do Iguaçu will once again play host to the Latin American Free Software Conference – Latinoware 2009. Around 4,000 people, including students, professionals and specialists from the industry, are expected for the 6th edition of the event, which is to be held from October 22 to 24, at the Itaipu Technological Park (ITP), located at the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant.

Promoted by Itaipu Binacional, Itaipu Technological Park Foundation - Brazil, Companhia de Informática do Paraná (Celepar) and the Federal Service of Data Processing (Serpro), Latinoware is an event that creates space for the discussion and reflection on the use of Free Software in Latin America, while promoting Latin American integration and appreciation.

As in previous editions, Latinoware is expected to break records in terms of public attendance and, once again, will be the stage for key international figures and representatives from private and public sectors from a number of Latin American countries to present their solutions in Free Software.

Thus, the program for Latinoware 2009 will include talks, round-tables and workshops on topics linked to information and communication technology, supported by free software systems developed on the continent.
